Ingredients

- 2 cups water
- 2 inches fresh turmeric root, peeled and sliced
- 1 inch fresh ginger, sliced
- 1 tablespoon tamarind paste
- 1–2 tablespoons palm sugar or honey (to taste)
- A pinch of black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan.
- Add turmeric and ginger, then simmer for 10–15 minutes.
- Strain the liquid into a glass.
- Stir in tamarind paste and sweetener while warm.
- Let cool slightly and serve warm or chilled.
Notes
Adjust sweetness based on personal preference. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Best consumed fresh.
