Description
Inspired by Costa Rica’s Blue Zone traditions, this herbal tea blends ginger, cinnamon, and lemon to support digestion, appetite control, and metabolism. Add biohacker-friendly upgrades like chia, coconut oil, or mineral salt to personalize your wellness ritual.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12–15 g fresh ginger, thinly sliced
- ½ cinnamon stick (or ¼ tsp ground cinnamon)
- Juice of ½ fresh lemon
- 300–350 ml water
- 1 tsp raw honey (optional)
- Biohacker Add-Ins (Choose ONE):
- 1 tbsp soaked chia seeds
- 1 tsp coconut oil or MCT oil
- A micro pinch of mineral or pink salt
Instructions
- Simmer gently: Heat the water in a small pot to a gentle simmer (not a rolling boil).
- Infuse: Add sliced ginger and cinnamon. Let steep 7–10 minutes.
- Finish: Remove from heat, pour into a mug, and stir in fresh lemon juice. Add optional honey.
- Upgrade (optional): Choose one add-in: chia, coconut/MCT oil, or mineral salt. Stir well and enjoy warm.
Notes
Do not boil aggressively — it weakens beneficial compounds. Keep honey minimal to preserve weight-loss benefits. Choose only ONE add-in to avoid calorie overload. Pair with light snacks like these Quick & Easy Rice Cakes: https://chefyuma.com/quick-easy-rice-cakes-recipes/
