- 6–7 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or a mix), peeled and sliced
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
- 2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel, core, and slice the apples evenly.
- In a large bowl, mix apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, flour, vanilla (if using), and salt.
- Roll out one pie crust and place it into a pie dish.
- Add the apple filling and dot with cubed butter.
- Cover with the second crust, seal and crimp the edges, then cut small slits on top.
- Bake for 50–55 minutes, until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.
- Let the pie cool before slicing and serving.
